Building Expansion Project & Bond Proposal (click here)

Over the last two years OPL engaged the services of Daniels & Zermack Architects in Ann Arbor, to develop a plan to expand its facility to accommodate the changing and growing needs of the community.

There are Four major components to the plan, provided here:

  1. Relocate and expand the Youth Services Department to include additional floor space for its growing collections, Early Literacy & Special Needs resources, and to allow for additional study tables located within the department.
  2. Expand the Adult Services Department to include additional quiet study rooms, small group board-style conference rooms, a local history and genealogy room with secure archives, and to relocate the adult computer lab.
  3. Expand the current Community Room to accommodate up to 200 seats for large library-wide programming and to better accommodate our larger homeowner associations that use the library as their primary meeting facility.
  4. Renovate and convert existing library space to include a library-wide Maker Space for creative and innovative life-long learning opportunities.

At OPL we pride ourselves on providing superior levels of access to information, and to quality educational, cultural, artistic and recreational enrichment opportunities.  Through the programs and services we develop for your family and you, opportunities for lifelong learning seem infinite.

Your journey begins at OPL; thank you for entrusting us to be your tour guide.  Transforming tomorrow, preserving our past and enriching lives today!  This is what we do at the Oxford Public Library.
